I’m a grandparent, what are my custody/visitation rights?

Oregon State University’s Extension Service has an Oregon Relatives as Parents Program that offers information and support for grandparents raising their grandchildren. Their Oregon Legal Guide for Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children is an excellent (and free) resource.

Washington County Law Library has a legal research guide on grandparents’ rights.  You can also check out Oregon legal research blog posts on grandparents and grandchildren or visit your local county law library to research the topic.

You can also begin your legal research process online by searching the Oregon Revised Statutes.  Keep in mind this is only a starting point and you will need to consult with an attorney and/or visit a county law library to continue your research.
